I was listening to a podcast this morning on my way to Starbucks and it was talking about making changes, and it started to ask, what changes are you afraid to make in your life? As I was walking and thinking about that, the one thing that I really want to do in my life is I want to help people become the best version of themselves. and I have to admit, that when I really let myself go and be in the flow, that is what I do. I help a lot of people by simply listening to them and asking questions to help them go deeper to give them some additional ways to think or consider about what they are telling me.

And, that I can do so much more. I have taken training on various different techniques that I might be able to use to help people and I have used them some time to time to help people, but I have not really jumped into the deep end of the pool to help people. So, as I was walking, I began to wounded why and I think there are two reasons that I have not jumped into the deep end of the pool. One is safety and two is fear of being accepted. I am safe in what I do today. I like what I do for the most part. It is comfortable and when I really feel into it, it has been a rut for a while. And, how I want to help people feels comfortable and yet feels so different from what I am doing today. Where I have lived in my mind for so long, the shift is about living in my whole body and going where the body wants to go versus what the mind feels safe doing.

I have had amazing connections with people where I have really been with them and I have let myself go with the flow of the connection so I can do it and it feels great and wonderful things happen during the interaction. I do not allow myself to be in that space all the time. I run back to the safety that I think I might need to be with, but if I am truly going to help people, I need to let go of the safety and feel into the connection.

The other day, I was listening to some stuff from Marianne Williamson. She is running for president in 2020 and many people believe that she is crazy, and woo-woo, but if you really listen to her, she talks about a lot of very thoughtful ideas. She talks about bringing us together versus trying to separate us. She is open to listening and really hearing your opinion, and having a discussion with her. She says our greatest threat is the divided between the haves and the have nots. As I listened, what I really got from her is that I can be part of the change, the change to bring people together and I can only be part of the change if I let go of my safety and really feel into helping people.

Of course, to help people, I need to help myself first. Part of helping people is showing you the reader what I am going through and hope that it will help you along the way. I hope you will enjoy my journey and get something from it. If you find that you want to go deeper, please comment below.
